We invite you to the launch of the exciting new 2013 series of Salena Godden's Book Club Boutique, the original home of Books, Booze & Boogie-Woogie welcoming you into a salubrious supper club and a literarti party with a twist.

7pm / £50 Supper Club Ticket An elegant 3-course supper, served with wine, in the beautiful Georgian dining room. We will be joined by the magnificent Maggie Gee OBE (acclaimed author of eleven novels, including The White Family, The Ice People, My Cleaner, My Driver and also a memoir about her life as a writer, My Animal Life.) Also we can now announce that brilliant poet and trailblazer Lemn Sissay. Lemn is Trustee of World Book Night. Trustee of Forward Arts Foundation. Patron of coping and education ambassador for The Arvon Foundation. He is ambassador for The Children’s Reading Fund. Published dozens of books and made BBC documentaries on The Last Poets, Bob Marley, Gil Scott Heron, JB Priestley, WH Auden and many more. Lemn will be attending and speaking, alongside award winner  Irfan Masters (A Beautiful Lie) and Roland Chambers (prize-winning author of The Last Englishman, a life of the British children’s writer, Arthur Ransome) You’ll be invited to contribute to the authors conversation on the art of writing memoir and autobiography, the fact and the fiction, by the fireplace.

There will be a debut reading from ‘Springfield Road’ the literary memoir by Salena Godden. And between courses there will be live music from special guests the heart breakingly beautiful blue grass from The Bundy Brothers.  There will also be a presentation of 'If The Heart Is A Bell' the sound-installation and tribute to much loved and missed Trolley publisher Gigi Giannuzzi.

10pm / £10 Party Ticket  After the supper club, special guests The Pop-Up Casino tempt you to try your luck and raise money for charity with black jack, poker and roulette. And in the butterfly room there will be book signings in the BCB book shop, stocked by special guest publishers Unbound and Trolley Books. On the downstairs stage you’ll find stunning performances from hip hop MC’s Adam Kammerling and Ruby Kid; kiss and tell tales of Paula Varjack and our very own Xavier Leret; the yellow world of Robert Auton and the east ends very own cockney poet laureate Tim Wells. Plus live music from the brilliance of Claire Nicolson and also New York soul sister Lisa Lore. After midnight its all about top tunes from the legendary BCBoutique DJ's in the members bar and basement until 5am!

Our glamorous venue is a members club, a vast former Georgian pub building, with a warren of elegantly proportioned rooms decorated with eccentric splendor. There are limited places and so its first come first served. You can NOW book tickets, email and RSVP jamila@thekingshead-london.com

The launch of the exciting new 2013 series of Salena Godden's Book Club Boutique. 
We have a new secret VIP venue, new residency, new format, new supper club, new books, new booze, new boogie-woogie, the debut of 'RadioPictures' and a London introduction to 'Word Casino' The fabulous BCB book shop will be stocked with publications from Unbound Books and Trolley and there will be a presentation of 'If The Heart Is A Bell' the sound-intsallation and tribute to our much-missed and loved friend, Trolley publisher Gigi Giannuzzi.

We'll have beautiful readings, kick ass poets, live music and DJ's, gambling and games and more...until 5am. Plus you'll hear a reading from Springfield Road live and a lively debate on the process of autobiography and the journey a writer encounters when writing memoir. All of this at 'True Stories' THE BOOK CLUB BOUTIQUE event on April 25th! But that's all I will tease you with now.
