A selection of artists from 'The Most Powerful Woman In The Universe' exhibition at Gallery 46 in East London have created artworks from a She-Ra action figure to be auctioned to raise money for Malala Fund.
More than 130 million girls around the world are out of school today. Threats to girls’ education - like poverty, war and gender discrimination - differ between countries and communities. Malala Fund is breaking down barriers that hold girls back, working for a world where every girl can learn and lead. There are six unique and outspoken artworks on offer, please bid generously to help support this amazing charity:

MC ANGEL:
Spoken word artist and hip hop emcee and page poet. She has been filmed by Red Bull TV, BBC3 and Channel 4 for the “Women in Hip Hop” project. She’s appeared on BBC 1xtra Live Lounge as part of their spoken word season. She is currently the resident MC for Morning Gloryville, a sober movement which has seen her share the stage with the likes of Fat Boy Slim and Basement Jaxx.
VERA CHOK:
Actor, poet and co-author of ground breaking best selling book The Good Immigrant. Vera Chok is a performance maker. She grew up in Malaysia and is of Chinese descent. She holds an MA in Archaeology & Anthropology from Oxford and trained as an actor at The Poor School (London) and Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Paris). More recently, Vera gained a
Distinction in a creative writing MA with a poetic collection excavating the sexual identity of an immigrant woman.
AMANI SAEED:
International spoken word artist whose work brings the big issues to your kitchen table. She explores the crisis cultivated by living between sometimes (but not always) contradictory cultures, treading the line between masjid and mini skirt. A Barbican Young Poet and curator of spoken word nights Golden Tongue and The Hen-nah Party, she has worked with Richmix, the Roundhouse, the BBC, and the Huffington Post, among others. Amani’s poetry has been described as ‘electric,’ ‘strident,’ and ‘brave.’ Her debut collection, Split, was published with Burning Eye Books in 2018.
4 BROWN GIRLS WHO WRITE:
London based poetry collective who published their debut collection last year to an overwhelmingly positive response. They have been described as 'spellbinding sisters in performance' and watching them reaffirms the importance of holding creative space not only for ourselves but for each other. Their book has since gone on to be featured in Vogue's pick of the week, they recently opened for Stoke Newington Literary Festival and took their debut poetry show to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer 2019.
